Worship Events and Shows With Canyon Worship

The Grand Canyon University community is blessed to enjoy a wide selection of shows and other worship events hosted by the Center for Worship Arts. Our worship events are designed to educate and inspire our students in preparation of God’s calling to become Christian leaders and to lead a life of discipleship. By planning and participating in our worship events, our worship arts students develop a keen understanding of the responsibilities involved with major undertakings.

In the fall semester, Canyon Worship artists perform songs from the latest Canyon Worship 2021 album. This event is called “Canyon Worship Live.”

GCU’s worship arts program hosts a Songwriters’ Showcase every semester on campus. Students submit original songs for performance consideration. It is through this process that songs are chosen for the Canyon Worship live albums, as the Songwriters Showcase songs are given consideration for the Canyon Worship albums.

You are invited to join us for worship at the events below. We hope you will enjoy our students’ music. Please consider supporting our student artists by purchasing their Canyon Worship albums.

Christian Worship Concerts at GCU

Each semester, GCU hosts a number of Christian worship concerts. We hope you’ll consider joining us for some of these fan favorites:

The Songwriters’ Showcase

The Showcase is an end-of-semester event attended primarily by worship arts students who showcase their work throughout the term. The event is hosted by the College of Theology during the fall and spring semesters. Each showcase features top original songs created and performed by worship arts students. Performances are unplugged, acoustic and take place in a low-fi, coffee house-style venue. The main goal of this event is to provide a listening-based, reflective and contemplative experience led by worship arts students.

Canyon Worship Albums

The Canyon Worship project is a co-curricular recording project that is carried out yearly by the Center for Worship Arts. The project entails the production and release of a full-length, original album of worship music created by students in the worship arts program. Recording occurs on campus in the GCU Recording Studio.

Canyon Worship Live

Canyon Worship Live entails an evening of worship and fellowship, led by GCU’s College of Theology students featured on the annual Canyon Worship album. These students have used their talents to write original, God-honoring, Christ-exalting songs that will assist churches in corporate worship. This event is open to the entire university and the local community.
